It seems as of late the Nike SB studio has saved its most intriguing design for one particular silhouette, the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski. With an existing boat-shoe-inspired aesthetic, the Janoski lends itself perfectly to simple textured designs. The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Woodgrain keeps things simple with a wood-inspired upper juxtaposed against the standard vulcanized mid-sole. The Nike design kitchen didn’t stop at a wood-grain pattern, but rather gave the kick a subtle texure to actually make the upper appear as if it were comprised of wood. The swoosh and leather laces are also given a dark-brown earth tone to match up with the wooden design conceit, giving the kicks an understated look ripe with intrigue. There is no word on an official release as of yet, but these are a limited edition Quickstrike, so start calling in your sneaker connects if you’d like to rock these this summer.
When the Nike Dunk Low Orange Blaze-Varsity Royal-Black and White released, people went crazy over the shoe. Many would say that this is because of Lau’s fame as an artist, or because of the limited quantity that the Janoski colorway released in. However, I would argue that the wood-like look of the “Michael Lau” Janoski is classic, and that said look should be the reason why people go crazy over the shoe. If you are looking for something similar, but perhaps a bit more formal, then you are in luck. The guys over at Nike Dunk Low have just dropped a “Woodgrain” Zoom Stefan Janoski Premium as a quickstrike release. The shoe has a boulder-colored upper that takes on a woodgrain effect. In addition, this colorway of the Stefan Janoski signature model, unlike recent colorways, includes a set of leather laces, in order to add to the “Premium” look.
The Stefan Janoski signature shoes from Nike Dunks mirrors the personality and skateboarding style of Janoski in that it is highly adaptable to the environment and is extremely progressive. Latest reincarnation takes an obvious correlation to the sport again by incorporating woodgrain pattern on the uppers. Although the concept is similar to the limited edition Michael Lau x Janoski models, the embossed brown leather uppers create a totally different personality of its own. Brown leather shoe laces, inner lining and white vulcanized soles compliments the simple exterior.
