Tonight we’ll see how good Oklahoma City’s shot at an NBA Championship really is, their pivotal game five matchup with Memphis a virtual must-win. The Nike SB Zoom Grizzlies have been playing phenomenal basketball but haven’t rolled through the Thunder like they did the top-seeded Spurs in large part due to the stellar play of OKC’s scoring champion, Kevin Durant. Durant has already made the leap to elite superstar status but a ring would cement his legacy, and with perfect timing too, since it looks like the best release from his Nike Basketball signature sneaker line is just around the corner. The Nike Zoom KD IV is going to see a bunch of releases as Durant’s star only brightens; everything from Thunder and TB team looks to special edition colorways will feature the Zoom KD 4′s unique medial strap and a unique ‘Thunderbolt’ traction pattern. We are no longer new with Stefan Janoski’s signature sneaker, the Nike SB Zoom which usually comes in suede upper. As opposed to the previous releases, this next release of the Nike Zoom Kobe-Lightslategray-Yellow is a complete turn-around as it replaces the rich suede upper with leather in all-red colorway. Amazingly, this hot pair comes very timely as it will add up to this season’s sizzling moments in the skateboarding field. Sneakerheads who at the same time are skateboarders are expected to show acceptance to this Stefan Janoski version as the first leather-made pair. There is no modification in terms of style, it has the ribbed collar, tall huge tongue with the Stefan Janoski label, red eyelets, brown embroidered Swoosh, red leather laces, and white vulcanized rubber sole.
Down two games to one, would the Oklahoma City Thunder be the next victim of the suddenly surging Memphis Grizzlies? KD got his “grown a%& man” on in Game 4, dropping 35 points and grabbing 13 boards en route to a triple-OT victory. Durant’s got another trick up his sleeve for Game 5 in the form of this sweet Nike SB Zoom Kobe colorway selected by a participant in the Nike Zoom KD III Design Contest and hand-selected by Durant himself. A white patent leather base upper is matched with a vibrant orange/photo blue gradient with a full black outsole for yet another OKC Thunder-specific colorway. Can the Grizzlies finally gain their first lead in this series? Check out Durant’s Game 5 Nike iDs after the jump and let us know what you think.
