The rising importance of Hello Kitty in the United States in the last decade reflects the craze over the children’s brand in Asia since the 1970s. Hello Kitty fits into the 21st century American love affair with anime and simple art. One lucky sneaker fan commissioned a Hello Kitty-inspired pair of Dunks through Stizo Custom Kicks. I am not a fan of Hello Kitty and the colorways may not appeal to a 27-year old male but the craft involved in creating these customs is impeccable. The cartoon cat that has become ubiquitous throughout the world pops out of the heels of these Nike Dunks. The blending of purple and pink hues from toe to heel is the most impressive aspect of these shoes. It is difficult to move without an interruption from a deep purple to a bright pink.
